The election machine foreign control plot is a modern conspiracy theory claiming that U.S. elections are secretly vulnerable to manipulation through foreign-owned voting technology, hidden overseas software, remote servers, hostile intelligence services, or election vendors tied to countries such as Venezuela, China, or Serbia. In reality, foreign influence efforts against U.S. elections are real, but the strongest machine-control claims go well beyond the evidence, and U.S. intelligence and election-security agencies have repeatedly said they found no indication foreign actors altered the technical voting process in 2020.
