FEMA camps / martial law is a long-running conspiracy theory claiming that the Federal Emergency Management Agency secretly operates or plans detention camps and that future disasters, pandemics, unrest, or economic collapse will be used to impose martial law on civilians. In reality, FEMA is a real disaster-response agency with significant emergency authorities under existing law, but the strongest camp-and-martial-law claims go far beyond the evidence and often misread emergency-management law, military logistics, or temporary responder housing as proof of an internment system.
