Project Rainbow is one of the most dangerous names in the black-project archive because it sounds like a single buried file when it is really a fork. In one branch, Project Rainbow means the alleged wartime invisibility field behind the Philadelphia Experiment: a Navy destroyer escort, USS Eldridge, wrapped in electromagnetic force, made invisible, teleported, and supposedly returned with catastrophic effects on the crew. In the other branch, Project Rainbow was a real Cold War effort connected to reducing the radar visibility of the U-2 reconnaissance aircraft.
