Cergy-Pontoise Close Encounter Case
The Cergy-Pontoise close encounter case is one of France’s most famous and disputed modern UFO stories. Usually dated to 26 November 1979, the case became notorious because Franck Fontaine allegedly vanished after approaching a luminous object near Cergy-Pontoise, reappeared a week later claiming no memory, and then became the center of a media storm, an official investigation, later abduction claims, and eventual confession-based hoax allegations.
