The Temporal Observation Chamber is one of the most important device-types in modern portal folklore. In the strongest versions of the claim, the observer does not travel through time. Instead, an enclosed chamber, barrel, gas column, viewing room, or tuned apparatus opens a controlled observational threshold through which other eras can be seen.
