The Villa Santina close encounter case is a controversial early Italian humanoid encounter story linked to artist and science-fiction writer Luigi Rapuzzi, better known as L. R. Johannis. Usually dated to 14 August 1947 and placed near Raveo and Villa Santina in Carnia, the case features a red landed disc, two small beings, a vapor or ray-like effect, and a long debate over whether it preserves a genuine early encounter or a later myth shaped by science fiction and ufology.
