NSA and the Korean War SIGINT Crisis
Strictly speaking, NSA did not yet exist when the Korean War began. But later NSA histories treated the war as one of the decisive crises in American cryptologic history because it revealed how badly the postwar system had been weakened, how mixed the SIGINT record could be, and why AFSA was not enough.
